Child Abuse Awareness Resources
Families are experiencing elevated stress and financial strain while the usual safe places for kids, such as schools and community centers, are closed. We want to help reach families who are struggling and alert people in our community to watch out for the signs of abuse. We developed some education materials to help raise awareness around the increased risk of child abuse during COVID-19.
If you are in a position that cares about kids and families, we are asking for your help to raise awareness and share information about healthy stress relief for families in isolation. The linked materials include:
- A fact sheet that shares information about child abuse, signs of abuse and neglect, tips for managing family stress and resources to call if abuse or neglect is suspected. You can post it to your webpage or distribute as an email attachment.
- Email or newsletter copy to share with your constituents.
- Social media posts to share to your organization’s Facebook page.
- Helping Children Cope During COVID-19 tip sheet ( English and Spanish versions)
Sharing these resources will ensure this important information reaches more families as we continue to practice safe social distancing. Together, we can protect kids in our community and empower families to stop abuse.
