May 28 - 30, 2020
- Brett Nirider, PT & Sara Kerrick, PT
This is an introductory course for health care and education providers. This course will include both lecture and hands on experience. Please dress comfortably as a large portion of this course will be devoted to hands on treatment labs. Previous courses in NDT are not required.
Participants will gain knowledge of contemporary theories for neurodevelopmental treatment as related to motor development, motor control and motor learning.
Participants will gain an understanding of the components of typical developmental for head and trunk control and gain skills for facilitation of movement through the trunk to improve function.
Participants will learn the preparatory components of lower extremity movement, related to the acquisition of standing and ambulation, and obtain ideas for facilitating more efficient standing posture and ambulation leading to increased function.
Participants will gain an understanding of the components of normal development, related to skilled movement of the upper extremities, and have an opportunity to practice facilitating movement leading to increased functional use of the upper extremities.
