Is it safe to visit urgent cares during the COVID-19 crisis?

We know you still need care for your child’s minor illnesses and injuries, and we understand it may feel unsettling to come into a medical facility during a pandemic. Mary Bridge Children’s Urgent Cares have strict and current up-to-date guidelines in place for your safety and well-being.

  • Appointments required
We are asking patients to book a same day or next day appointment online. Enjoy the virtual waiting room from the comfort of your home and then in your vehicle when you arrive. We can only offer limited walk-in availability with unpredictable wait times; scheduling an appointment allows for optimal social distancing within our sites.
  • Masks required
For your safety, everyone visiting the clinic will be required to wear a mask throughout the duration of their visit (exceptions for infants and very young children who may have difficulty wearing one). If you do not have your own mask, we will provide one for you.

What can I expect when I arrive?

Check-in process

  1. When you arrive for your appointment, please remain in your vehicle. Text or call using the link or phone number you were provided when you scheduled your appointment.
  2. When you have been notified that it is your turn to enter the building, a member of our care team will greet you at the door. We will provide you with a mask if you do not have one and allow you to sanitize your hands.
  3. You will then be escorted to a private, sanitized exam room. If you are unable to wait in a vehicle, please message or call immediately after reserving your appointment. Providing safe, efficient, and excellent care to your child is always our priority.

Visitor policy

To promote optimal social distancing means reducing the number of persons in our clinic. We are asking that patients 17 years and under to be accompanied by no more than two parents or guardians. We ask that siblings NOT accompany your child unless they are being seen.

Additional precautions

All of our employees are screened for symptoms whenever they enter the building. They wear masks at all times and follow strict hand washing and current up-to-date protective equipment guidelines. You are in great hands. We adhere to the most current World Health Organization guidelines, and we quickly identify and safely isolate any patients who may have COVID-19.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?

COVID-19 has similar symptoms to the flu, which include coughing, fever, sore throat, and difficulty breathing.

How does COVID-19 spread?

COVID-19 appears to transmit like the common cold and influenza, spread primarily by droplets, (coughing, sneezing, etc.).

What can I do to prevent COVID-19?

  • Follow the governor's order to stay home and to stay healthy when possible.
  • Stay at least 6 feet away from others.
  • Wash hands frequently, for at least 30 seconds using soap and water.
  • Wear your mask, Washington secretary of health requires Washingtonians to wear face coverings in public spaces (indoors in most situations, and outdoors when proper physical distancing
  • cannot be maintained).
  • Disinfect "touch points" such as doorknobs, phones, and keyboards -- to reduce transmission of any respiratory virus, including COVID-19.
COVID-19 Testing

Can I be tested for COVID-19?

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) currently recommends testing anyone with symptoms consistent with COVID-19. In addition, DOH recommends the testing of individuals with a likely exposure, such as close contact with a suspected case or when exposed in an outbreak situation.

You should be tested if you have any symptoms for COVID-19. Possible symptoms include, cough, shortness of breath, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea. Please schedule an appointment for evaluation with a provider and this testing. Your insurance will be billed for the visit and laboratory tests. If you do not have insurance, the cost will be $175 for the provider visit plus you will be billed separately for the lab test.

If you were exposed to someone in the last 2-14 days who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or if you were exposed in an outbreak situation and you are asymptomatic you should schedule an appointment with a provider to discuss possible testing.
