Pediatric Transport Services for Critically Ill and Injured Children
When Every Second Counts, We’re There for You
When pediatric patients across Washington State need fast access to state-of-the-art medical care at Mary Bridge Children’s, our dedicated 24/7 Pediatric Transport Team springs into action.
As a mobile critical care unit for ground and air transport, our team of highly-trained nurses and respiratory therapists safely transfer hundreds of seriously ill and injured children to our state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center for Western Washington to receive high level care each year.
Ground & Air Pediatric Transport for Urgent Transfers
Outfitted with specialized medical equipment, our Pediatric Transport Team travels by air or ambulance to reach patients who need emergency transport. The team’s advanced training and expertise help to stabilize and care for the complex needs of children with life-threatening conditions or injuries related to:
- Respiratory illnesses, such as pneumonia, bronchiolitis, & asthma
- Seizures & other neurological disorders
- Requiring surgical services, such as a ruptured appendix
- Heart failure & congenital heart defects
- Trauma and other accidents
Expanded Transport Services to Washington’s Eastern & Western Regions
When pediatric patients need high level care from the medical and surgical specialists at Mary Bridge Children’s, getting them there fast is an important part of successful treatment and recovery.
Traveling by air gets our Pediatric Transport Team more quickly to patients located in traditionally hard-to-reach areas, to the west along the Olympic Peninsula and regions east of the Cascades. Our new strategic partnership with Airlift Northwest, part of UW Medicine, means our team can transfer the most critical pediatric patients three to four times faster than by ground transport.
Comprehensive Care When Your Child Needs Us
Our Pediatric Transport Team is committed to providing the exceptional medical support your child needs during an urgent ground or air transfer to our Emergency Department, Level II Pediatric Trauma Center or Intensive Care Unit. If your child needs surgery or to be admitted, our medical staff also coordinates with your pediatrician to provide seamless care throughout the entirety of your child’s stay at Mary Bridge Children’s.
